The event highlighted the country’s unity in diversity and its commitment to showcasing its progress and achievements on the global stage.

Grand Parade Highlights India’s Strength and Heritage

The Republic Day Parade was a visual treat, featuring 31 colorful tableaux from various states and ministries. Each tableau represented the unique traditions, cultures, and achievements of different regions across India. Accompanying these were the impeccably synchronized marching contingents of India’s armed forces, reflecting the country’s military discipline and prowess.

The highlight of the event was the fly-past by the Indian Air Force, which mesmerized the audience with precise aerial formations and breathtaking maneuvers. The atmosphere at Kartavya Path was filled with pride and patriotism as citizens witnessed the grandeur of the event.

Indonesia’s President as Chief Guest

This year, the President of Indonesia graced the Republic Day Parade as the Chief Guest, reflecting the strong diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia. The event commenced with the arrival of President Droupadi Murmu, accompanied by the Indonesian President, in a traditional ‘buggy’ escorted by the President’s Bodyguard. Their grand arrival set the tone for the day’s celebrations.

Increased Public Participation: ‘Jan Bhagidari’

In alignment with the government’s goal of enhancing ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (public participation) in national events, approximately 10,000 guests from various walks of life were invited to witness the parade. These included individuals who had excelled in their respective fields and beneficiaries of various government schemes. This initiative emphasized the inclusivity and participatory nature of the Republic Day celebrations, ensuring that the achievements of common citizens were also celebrated.

Tribute to Fallen Heroes at the National War Memorial

The ceremony began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial to pay tribute to India’s fallen heroes. The Prime Minister laid a wreath at the memorial, symbolizing the nation’s gratitude to the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country. This solemn moment was a reminder of the bravery and dedication of India’s armed forces.

National Flag Unfurling and 21-Gun Salute

Following tradition, the National Flag was unfurled, accompanied by the National Anthem and a 21-gun salute. This year, the salute was delivered using 105-mm Light Field Guns, an indigenous weapon system, emphasizing India’s strides in self-reliance in defense manufacturing. The thunderous sound of the salute added to the patriotic fervor of the occasion.
