So far, 62,654 landowners have submitted their self-declaration forms.

Key Highlights:

  • 62,654 landowners have submitted self-declaration forms related to their land.
  • Both online and offline modes are available for landowners to submit the forms.
  • March 31 is the deadline to submit self-declaration forms for landowners.

Land Survey Process: Update on Gazette Publication and Landowner Relief

As part of the ongoing special land survey, the gazette publication for two villages in Bettiah district has been completed. This marks a significant step in completing the land survey, which aims to digitally map all land ownership in the region. According to departmental sources, this initiative is aimed at improving land records, promoting transparency, and minimizing land disputes. The authorities have intensified efforts to complete the survey at the earliest.

Landowners in Bettiah have been provided relief through the extension of the deadline for submitting self-declaration forms. These forms contain crucial details related to land ownership. The government initially set a deadline for the submission of these forms; however, the timeline has now been extended to March 31, 2025. The deadline extension aims to ensure that landowners have sufficient time to complete the necessary documentation.

A Significant Step: Self-Declaration Forms and Verification Process

So far, a total of 62,654 landowners in Bettiah district have submitted their self-declaration forms. This is part of the ongoing process to collect detailed information about land ownership in the district. Under the second phase of the land survey, landowners are expected to provide comprehensive details regarding their land holdings.

The district’s settlement officer, Pramod Kumar, emphasized that landowners must submit the required forms by the deadline, or they may face difficulties later. This process will help authorities create accurate records and verify ownership to prevent future disputes.

To make it convenient for the landowners, both online and offline methods have been made available. They can submit their self-declaration forms online via a digital portal or physically at the concerned office. This ensures easy access for landowners from different parts of the district.

The submission of self-declaration forms is a critical step in the land survey process. It ensures that the authorities have the necessary information to initiate the verification phase. After the forms are submitted, the next step is the physical verification of the land. Officials will conduct on-site inspections to cross-check the details provided in the forms.

What Happens After Form Submission: The Verification Process

Once the self-declaration forms are submitted, the next phase of the survey will involve verification. During this phase, officials will physically inspect the land to ensure the accuracy of the data provided. This step aims to prevent any discrepancies or fraudulent claims from entering the system.

The district’s settlement officer confirmed that the verification process would begin soon. This involves visiting the properties listed in the forms and conducting on-ground checks to match the submitted details with the actual land ownership. This verification process will also help in identifying any potential errors or fraudulent activities that could disrupt the accuracy of land records.

Officials will work to ensure that the entire verification process is completed smoothly and efficiently. The goal is to create an accurate and transparent record of land ownership that will serve as a reliable source of information for years to come.

Land Survey Underway in 13 Blocks of Bettiah: Updates on Survey Phases

The land survey process in Bettiah is taking place in two phases. In the first phase, the survey was conducted in 4 blocks, including Chanpatiya, Majholia, Nautan, and Lauria, covering 281 villages (Mauza). This phase has already been completed, and the results are being compiled.

In the second phase of the land survey, 13 blocks of Bettiah are currently under review. These blocks include Narkatiyaganj, Sikta, Mainatand, Gounaha, Baria, Yogapatti, Bagaha-I, Bagaha-II, Ramnagar, Madhubani, Piprasi, Thakraha, and Bhitaha. The survey work in these areas is ongoing, with a total of 1,170 villages (Mauza) being surveyed in this phase.

According to Pramod Kumar, the district’s settlement officer, landowners in these blocks need not worry. The self-declaration forms can be filled out and submitted by the landowners or their descendants. The forms allow the landowner to provide necessary details regarding their land, such as its ownership, boundaries, and history.

Once the survey is completed in these 13 blocks, the department will move to the final stages of processing and verifying the collected data. The goal is to ensure that the land survey process covers all 18 blocks of Bettiah, which includes a total of 1,507 villages.

Relief for Landowners: Extended Deadline and Flexibility in Submission

The extension of the deadline to March 31, 2025, has provided significant relief to landowners in Bettiah. Many landowners had expressed concerns about meeting the original deadline due to various reasons, such as lack of awareness or difficulty in accessing online portals. The extension gives them extra time to gather the required information and submit their self-declaration forms.

The district administration has also made efforts to ensure that landowners understand the importance of this process. Regular awareness campaigns and informational sessions have been conducted to guide people through the steps of the land survey. These initiatives aim to ensure that no one is left out of the process due to lack of knowledge or resources.

Landowners who have yet to submit their forms are encouraged to do so as soon as possible to avoid any complications in the future. Once the forms are submitted and verified, the authorities will update the official land records, ensuring that all ownership details are correctly recorded.

The Importance of Accurate Land Records in Bihar

Accurate land records are crucial for the development and growth of any region. In Bihar, where land disputes have historically been a significant issue, the ongoing land survey aims to resolve many of these challenges. By creating a digital record of land ownership, the government seeks to reduce disputes and promote transparency.

Having up-to-date and accurate land records can help landowners prove their ownership and protect their property rights. Moreover, these records will facilitate smoother land transactions, making it easier for people to buy or sell land in the future. As Bihar continues its push for modernization and digitization, this land survey will play a crucial role in improving the overall governance and efficiency of the state.

What’s Next: Completing the Survey and Finalizing Land Ownership Records

After the submission of self-declaration forms and the physical verification process, the next step will be finalizing the land ownership records. The authorities will consolidate all the information and create a digital database, which will be accessible to the public.

Once this process is complete, the land records will be updated, and any discrepancies found during verification will be corrected. This will ensure that the landownership information is accurate and trustworthy, providing security to landowners and reducing the chances of legal disputes.

The district administration has emphasized that the ongoing survey and verification process will be completed in a timely and organized manner. Officials are committed to ensuring that every landowner in Bettiah is given a fair chance to submit their details and have their land accurately recorded.

The special land survey in Bettiah is a critical step toward improving land records and reducing disputes in the region. The completion of the gazette publication and the submission of self-declaration forms is an essential part of this process. With the extended deadline for submission and the ongoing verification process, landowners in Bettiah will soon have accurate and updated records of their land holdings.
