The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has officially started the application process for the UP Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2025. This large-scale recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 4,543 vacancies, including Sub-Inspectors, PAC Platoon Commanders, and women platoon commanders in the Special Security Force (SSF) and Women PAC units. Candidates can submit their applications online at apply.upprpb.in until September 11, 2025.
The recruitment has generated massive interest among aspirants, with over 3.5 lakh candidates already registering. The One-Time Registration (OTR) process, which began on July 31, is mandatory for all applicants. Once completed, OTR allows candidates to apply for future recruitments without re-entering their personal details. Notably, candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh are also eligible to apply.
Vacancy Distribution Across Posts
According to UPPBPB Chairperson DG SB Shirdkar, the recruitment includes 4,242 posts for Sub-Inspectors, 135 posts for PAC Platoon Commanders, 60 posts for Platoon Commanders in the Special Security Force, and 106 posts for women platoon commanders in the PAC units of Badaun, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur.
Educational Qualification Requirements
Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university at the time of application. Those who are appearing for their final year examinations are not eligible. Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

Age Limit and Relaxation
A one-time relaxation of three years has been granted to all categories, applicable only to this recruitment. This provision is aimed at candidates who became overage due to no SI recruitment in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Physical Standards (PST) Requirements
For male candidates:

Selection Process Overview

Written Examination Pattern
The exam will be conducted in OMR format, carrying a total of 400 marks with a duration of two hours. There will be 160 questions, divided equally among four sections:

Each section will carry 100 marks. To qualify, candidates must score at least 35% in each subject and 50% overall.

OTR and Application Process
Before applying, candidates must complete the OTR on uppbpb.gov.in. This is a free process. Applicants will need a unique email ID and mobile number for registration, which cannot be changed later. During OTR, the name, gender, and date of birth must match exactly with the details on the 10th standard certificate.
Applications can be completed using Aadhaar, DigiLocker, driving license, PAN, or passport details. If 10th standard details cannot be retrieved from DigiLocker, candidates can enter them manually.
Live Photo and Biometric Verification
Applicants’ live photographs will be taken during the application process. At each stage—written examination, document verification, PMT, and PET—biometric verification using photographs, fingerprints, and Aadhaar-based e-KYC will be conducted.

Rules Regarding Substance Use
The board has made it clear that any candidate found consuming steroids, stimulants, or intoxicants during PET will face immediate disqualification. Medical testing will be conducted, and confirmed cases will result in application cancellation and legal action.
Caste Certificate Validity for OBC/EWS
Caste certificates for OBC/EWS candidates must be issued between April 1, 2025, and September 11, 2025.
