KKN Gurugram Desk | The sacred city of Ayodhya is witnessing a historic spiritual event as the second phase of the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony commences at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. This three-day event, from June 3 to June 5, marks the installation of the Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor and the consecration of deities in eight newly constructed temples within the complex.

Key Highlights of the Ceremony

  • Date: June 3–5, 2025

  • Location: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Ayodhya

  • Main Events:

    • Installation of the Ram Darbar featuring Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman on the first floor.

    • Consecration of deities in six temples situated on the temple’s ramparts and two additional temples, including the Sheshavatar temple.

  • Rituals: Daily 12-hour pujas from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, including fire offerings, chanting of 1,975 mantras, and recitations of devotional hymns like Ram Raksha Stotra and Hanuman Chalisa.

  • Security Measures: Enhanced security with Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) commandos, armoured vehicles, and round-the-clock surveillance.

A Prelude: The Kalash Yatra

On June 2, a day before the main ceremonies, a grand Kalash Yatra was organized. Hundreds of women carried sacred water from the Sarayu River in ceremonial pots, proceeding through key landmarks like Veena Chowk, Hanuman Garhi, and Dashrath Mahal, culminating at the Yagyashala.

The Rituals Unfold

The Pran Pratishtha ceremonies began on June 3 at 6:30 AM. Over 101 Vedic scholars from various parts of India are performing the rituals, which include:

  • Puja and Havan: Fire offerings accompanied by the chanting of 1,975 mantras.

  • Devotional Recitations: Chanting of Ram Raksha Stotra, Hanuman Chalisa, and other bhajans.

  • Murtis’ Purification: Ritualistic purification of the deities’ idols.

Ram Darbar: From Balak Ram to Raja Ram

The first Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024, saw the installation of Lord Ram in his child form (Balak Ram). This second phase elevates the deity to his royal form (Raja Ram), symbolizing his coronation. The Ram Darbar on the first floor will feature Lord Ram alongside Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman.

Consecration of Eight Temples

In addition to the Ram Darbar, eight other temples within the complex are being consecrated:

  • Rampart Temples:

    • Shiva Lingam (Northeast corner)

    • Lord Ganesha (Southeast corner)

    • Lord Hanuman (Southern side)

    • Lord Surya (Southwest corner)

    • Goddess Bhagwati (Northwest corner)

    • Goddess Annapurna (Northern side)

  • Additional Temples:

    • Sheshavatar Temple (Southern side)

    • Sapt Mandir featuring Maharishi Valmiki, Vishwamitra, Agastya, Vashistha, Nishadraj, Ahilya, and Shabari.

Security and Administrative Measures

Given the significance of the event, security has been intensified:

  • Deployment: ATS commandos with armoured vehicles are stationed within the temple complex.

  • Surveillance: Round-the-clock monitoring in three shifts.

  • Inspections: Ayodhya District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police have conducted detailed inspections of sensitive areas and entry routes.

Cultural Significance and Celebrations

The ceremonies coincide with Ganga Dussehra, adding to the spiritual fervor. Devotees from across the country are flocking to Ayodhya, participating in bhajans, kirtans, and other devotional activities. The temple complex is adorned with vibrant lights, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

The second Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir is not just a religious event but a cultural renaissance, symbolizing the enduring faith and devotion of millions. As the deities are consecrated and the temple complex nears completion, Ayodhya stands as a beacon of spiritual unity and heritage.
