UPSC Aspirant Dies by Suicide in Old Rajinder Nagar

A UPSC aspirant died by suicide. The incident occurred in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi. His body was found hanging. A piece of cloth was used. It was tied to a ceiling fan.

Tragic Discovery in Delhi

A heartbreaking incident unfolded. A UPSC student took his own life. This happened in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi. He was preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams. The student left a suicide note. In it, he blamed himself. He took full responsibility for his action. The deceased student is identified. He is Tarun Thakur, 25 years old. He hailed from Jammu.

Police Respond to Emergency Call

Police received a PCR call. It reported a suicide. The call came on Friday evening. This was on July 19. The location was 21/31 Old Rajinder Nagar. This falls under Rajinder Nagar police station. A police team reached the spot. They found Tarun Thakur’s body. It was hanging from a ceiling fan. A piece of cloth was used.

Student’s Living Situation

Tarun had lived there for one year. He occupied a room. It was on the second floor. This floor has seven rooms. All are single occupancy. They are typically rented by UPSC students. Police found his phone number. It was registered at that address. His brother resides in Gurugram. The student used a bedsheet. He used it to hang himself. A suicide note was also found. It was in the room.

Father Alerts Landlord

Initial inquiries revealed crucial details. The deceased’s father tried contacting him. He called several times. This was on Friday morning. He received no response. He then reached out to the landlord. He requested them to check on Tarun. The landlord went to Tarun’s room. It was on the second floor. They found the room locked from inside.

They then moved to an adjacent room. This room had a shared balcony. From there, they saw Tarun hanging inside. They immediately informed the police.

Investigation Underway

Police opened the room. They began their investigation. A suicide note was recovered. It was found at the scene. In the note, Tarun stated his responsibility. He wrote he was solely accountable. A crime team was summoned. They arrived at the scene. This was for further investigation. Necessary actions are being taken. The investigation and inspection process continues. Progress in the case will be reported. It will be provided in a timely manner.
