Allu Arjun’s grandmother Allu Kanakaratnamma passes away at 94 due to age-related issues

The grandmother of South superstar and Padma Shri award winner Allu Arjun, Smt Allu Kanakaratnam, passed away on Saturday, August 30. For the unversed, she was the wife of veteran actor Allu Ramalingaiah. According to 123Telugu, following her death, the Pushpa fame actor headed to the airport, and RRR actor Ram Charan cancelled the shoot of his upcoming film ‘Peddi’. 

Telugu actor Chiranjeevi took to his X handle and shared an emotional note on his mother-in-law’s death. He wrote, “Our mother-in-law.. The demise of Kanakarathnamma Garu, wife of Sri Allu Ramalingayya Garu, is extremely heartbreaking. The love, courage, and life values she showed to our families will forever be an inspiration to us. I pray to God that their sacred soul attains peace. Om Shanti.”

Her demise has left the family and well-wishers deeply saddened, with condolences pouring in from fans and industry colleagues. One user shared the throwback picture of Allu Arjun with his grandmother and wrote, “Allu Kanakaratnamma, Paternal Grand Mother of Allu Arjun, passed away today, may she rest in peace Stay strong @alluarjun anna, we’re with you.”

Another user added, “ICON STAR #AlluArjun’s grandmother, wife of Late Allu Ramalingaih, passed away this morning. Allu Arjun headed to Hyderabad from Mumbai upon hearing the news!! Om Shanti.”

Telugu star Allu Arjun was last seen in ‘Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2’ alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, will be next seen in ‘Pushpa: The Rampage – Part 3’. He is also a part of Atlee’s film, tentatively titled, ‘#AA22xA6’, which also stars Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.
