  1. Candidate with higher marks in Biology will be given preference.

  2. If still tied, the candidate with higher Chemistry marks will be ranked higher.

  3. If a tie remains, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers in the overall NEET exam will be considered superior.

  4. As a final measure, the older candidate (by age) will be given a better rank.

These tie-breaker policies help ensure fair and transparent seat allocation during counselling.

What Happens After the UP NEET Merit List is Released?

After the release of the UP NEET 2025 merit list, shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in the choice filling and seat allocation rounds. Here’s what to expect next:

  • Step 2: Seat Allotment
Based on NEET rank, category, and choices filled, the DMT will declare seat allotment results for each round. Candidates will be allotted seats as per availability and merit position.

  • Step 3: Document Verification & Fee Payment
After allotment, candidates must report to the designated verification center with original documents, pay the admission fee, and confirm their seat.

  • Step 4: Further Rounds (If Necessary)
If seats remain vacant, the process will continue with Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy rounds.
