KKN Gurugram Desk | In a remarkable story of determination, discipline, and familial support, three real sisters from Hathras district have been selected simultaneously for the Uttar Pradesh Police force. All three have secured the position of Police Constable, turning a modest family’s dream into a proud reality.

Their success not only speaks to the growing role of women in law enforcement but also stands as an inspiring example of rural empowerment and family-driven ambition.

Daughters Fulfill Father’s Dream with UP Police Selection

The story mirrors the real-life version of the film Dangal, where a father trains his daughters to become world-class wrestlers. In this case, it’s Virendra Singh, a contract worker at the Nagar Panchayat (Municipal Council) in Mursan, who tirelessly supported his daughters’ dream of joining the police force.

Now, his daughters — Rashmi, Sapna, and Kanchan — have made it to the Uttar Pradesh Police in a single recruitment cycle.

“My dream has come true. I worked hard for them, but it was their dedication and commitment that made this possible,” said an emotional Virendra Singh.

Background: A Humble Family with Big Aspirations

Originally from Barhan in Agra, Virendra Singh has been serving on a contractual basis in Mursan Nagar Panchayat. Despite limited resources and a family of seven daughters and one son, Virendra and his wife Nirmala focused heavily on their daughters’ education.

“Financial struggles never stopped us. We wanted our daughters to stand on their own feet,” shared Nirmala.

The family’s economic condition was far from ideal, but the determination of the parents and the daughters made the impossible possible.

Rigorous Preparation: Running, Studying, and Never Giving Up

All three sisters — Rashmi, Sapna, and Kanchan — have been preparing for the UP Police recruitment for several years. Their daily routine involved early morning running sessions, physical training, and dedicated study schedules, guided and supported by their father.

“He used to accompany us every morning for running drills. No matter how tired he was from work, he always showed up for us,” recalled Sapna.

The sisters credit their discipline, time management, and family support as the key elements that helped them crack the competitive exam.

Education and Training Details

  • Rashmi and Sapna completed their Intermediate education in 2018.

  • Kanchan completed her Intermediate in 2019.

  • After years of preparation and perseverance, the results were finally in their favor.

As of now:

  • Two sisters will undergo training in Lalitpur.

  • One sister will be trained in Kanpur Dehat.

On Monday, as they left for their respective training centers, their family and local community members gave them a warm farewell, complete with flower garlands, applause, and heartfelt wishes.

Community Celebration: Pride and Honor for Mursan

The local community in Mursan celebrated the rare achievement with enthusiasm. The send-off ceremony was attended by several prominent local figures including:

  • Former Chairman Giriraj Kishore Sharma

  • Pankaj and Rupesh Agrawal

  • Dr. Vishnu, Master Lakhan Singh

  • Banshidhar Sharma, Suraj Sharma (Advocate)

  • Babuddin Khan, Rakesh Gupta, and many others

The collective sentiment was one of inspiration and pride, especially in a town where opportunities for young women in policing are still rare.

“These girls are a shining example for our society. They’ve proved that nothing is impossible if you have the will,” said local educationist Dr. Vishnu.

A New Chapter for Women in Uniform

The story of the Hathras sisters joining the UP Police highlights the changing face of law enforcement in India. As more young women enter security forces, stories like these challenge stereotypes and promote gender equity in traditionally male-dominated professions.

“Being in the police is not just a job, it’s a responsibility. We want to serve and protect society just like any other officer,” said Kanchan with confidence.

A Model for Rural Youth

In small towns and villages across India, government jobs still symbolize stability, respect, and opportunity. The Hathras sisters’ achievement serves as a powerful example for rural youth, especially girls, to aim high regardless of socio-economic limitations.

Their father’s contract job, limited income, and a large family didn’t stop them from dreaming—and achieving.

This story also shines light on the importance of parental support, especially in households where girls often face limitations due to traditional beliefs or financial burdens.

The journey of Rashmi, Sapna, and Kanchan is not just about securing a job in the police department; it’s about overcoming odds, fulfilling a father’s dream, and setting an example for thousands of young girls who aspire to wear the uniform someday.

As they head into police training in Lalitpur and Kanpur Dehat, they carry the hopes of their family, their town, and many who now see them as role models of courage, resilience, and determination.

KKNLive.com salutes these daughters of India and will continue to track their journey from training to duty.
