From Minapur’s Village to National Success: Twin Sisters Clear CSIR-NET

A twin-sister duo from Kharhar village in Minapur block of Muzaffarpur district has achieved success in one of the country’s major national-level eligibility examinations. Shanaya Nishant and Shonaya Nishant, who completed their postgraduate studies in Zoology from L.S. College, Muzaffarpur, have both qualified the CSIR-NET examination.

Shanaya Nishant has achieved All India Rank 92 and qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Her twin sister, Shonaya Nishant, has also cleared the CSIR-NET examination in Zoology.

What makes the sisters’ achievement particularly inspiring is the manner in which they prepared. Both continued their studies while staying at their home in Kharhar, Minapur, and prepared for the examination through self-study rather than moving to a major city for coaching.

Continuing the Academic Journey from Minapur

After completing their M.Sc. in Zoology from L.S. College, Muzaffarpur, the sisters turned their attention towards national-level competitive examinations. They maintained a regular study schedule and continued preparing from their native village.

Their success demonstrates that students from rural and smaller-town backgrounds can compete successfully at the national level with sustained preparation and determination.

Shanaya’s JRF qualification is particularly significant as it provides her with an opportunity to pursue advanced research and move towards Ph.D. and a career in higher education and scientific research.

Teachers’ Guidance Played an Important Role

Alongside their own efforts, the sisters also received academic guidance from their teachers. Prof. Vipin Kumar has been associated with their academic journey as a mentor, providing guidance during their postgraduate studies and continuing to support them thereafter.

The family has acknowledged the contribution of their teachers and mentors in helping the sisters progress towards their academic goals.

“A Proud Moment for Our Family,” Says Father

Expressing his happiness, their father Kaushlendra Jha said that the achievement of his daughters was a matter of immense pride for the entire family.

“Seeing our daughters succeed is a proud moment for our family. Their achievement would not have been possible without the guidance and support of their teachers. The guidance of Prof. Vipin Kumar has been particularly appreciable. He has continuously guided both of them during their postgraduate studies and even afterwards,” he said.

He added that the sisters’ dedication, hard work and commitment, along with the guidance of their teachers, helped them achieve this milestone.

The CSIR-NET success of Shanaya and Shonaya has brought recognition to Kharhar village and Minapur block and has become an encouraging example for students pursuing higher education and competitive examinations from rural areas.

Their achievement reinforces the message that academic excellence is not limited by geography when determination, consistent self-study and appropriate guidance come together.
