The Bihar Board Class 10 annual examination will be conducted from February 17 to February 25, 2026, in two shifts across the state. The Bihar School Examination Board has issued strict instructions for students and examination officials to ensure smooth and malpractice-free conduct of the matric examination. According to the board, candidates must reach their respective examination centers well before the scheduled time, as late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances.

The board has clearly stated that entry into the examination center will be allowed only up to one hour before the examination begins. The main gate of the examination center will be closed thirty minutes before the start of the exam. Any student arriving after the gate closure will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

Over 15 Lakh Students to Appear in Bihar Board Matric Exam

This year, a total of 15,12,963 candidates are set to appear for the Bihar Board Class 10 examination. The exams will be conducted in two shifts each day at designated centers across Bihar. Keeping the large number of examinees in mind, the board has directed district administrations to strictly follow all guidelines related to examination security and discipline.

The Bihar School Examination Board has emphasized that maintaining the integrity of the examination is a top priority. All officials involved in exam conduct have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the rules issued by the board. Any form of negligence or relaxation will invite disciplinary action.

Mandatory Reporting Time for Both Shifts

The board has clearly defined reporting and entry timings for both examination shifts. Candidates appearing in the first shift must reach their examination center by 9:00 am, as the exam will begin at 9:30 am. Entry for first shift candidates will start at 8:30 am, and the main gate will be closed exactly thirty minutes before the exam begins.

For the second shift, the examination will start at 2:00 pm. Entry into the examination center will begin at 1:00 pm, while the main gate will be closed at 1:30 pm. Students who fail to enter the center before the gate closure will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

The board has instructed students to strictly adhere to the reporting time mentioned on their admit cards. Students are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid last-minute delays.

Forced Entry to Be Treated as Criminal Trespass

In a strong warning, the board has stated that any candidate attempting to enter the examination center illegally will face severe consequences. Students who arrive late and try to gain entry by jumping boundary walls or using unfair means will be treated under the category of criminal trespass.

Such actions will be considered a violation of the board’s instructions and an attempt to disrupt the sanctity of the examination. The board has clarified that candidates found guilty of such misconduct will be debarred from appearing in examinations for a period of two years. In addition to this, an FIR will also be registered against the concerned candidates.

The board has communicated these instructions to all district authorities to ensure strict enforcement at every examination center.

Strict Action Against Examination Officials for Lapses

The Bihar School Examination Board has also issued strict directions for examination officials and center superintendents. If any center superintendent allows a candidate to enter the examination hall after the gate closure or permits illegal entry, strict action will be taken against the official concerned.

Such officials will face suspension and further departmental proceedings. The board has made it clear that no verbal instructions or personal discretion will be accepted. Only the guidelines officially issued by the board will be followed during the examination process.

Shoes and Socks Banned Inside Exam Centers

As part of enhanced security measures, the board has imposed a strict dress code for candidates. Students will not be allowed to enter the examination center wearing shoes or socks. Candidates found wearing shoes or socks at the gate will be denied entry.

The board has instructed students to wear slippers instead of shoes while appearing for the examination. This rule will be strictly enforced at all examination centers across the state. Officials posted at entry points have been directed to check compliance carefully, and no relaxation will be allowed under any circumstances.

Admit Cards and Exam Guidelines Already Issued

The board has already issued admit cards to all registered candidates. Important instructions related to exam timing, entry rules, and conduct are clearly mentioned on the admit cards. Students have been advised to carefully read and follow all instructions printed on the document.

The board has reiterated that failure to follow the guidelines may lead to disqualification from the examination. Candidates must carry their valid admit cards to the examination center, as entry will not be allowed without proper identification.

Focus on Malpractice-Free Examination

The Bihar School Examination Board has reiterated its commitment to conducting a fair and transparent examination. Special measures have been taken to prevent cheating and other unfair practices. Surveillance arrangements have been strengthened, and monitoring teams will remain active during the examination period.

District administrations have been asked to deploy adequate police personnel at sensitive examination centers. The board has emphasized zero tolerance toward indiscipline, misconduct, or any attempt to compromise the examination process.

Advisory for Students Appearing in Matric Exam

Students appearing for the Bihar Board Class 10 examination have been advised to reach their centers well in advance to avoid unnecessary stress. They are also advised to consider possible traffic or weather-related delays while planning their travel.
