As per the latest weather reports, Bihar is set to experience heavy rainfall in three of its districts on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for certain regions of the state, indicating the possibility of thunder strikes and gusty winds. While the northeastern part of Bihar, including Seemanchal, Kosi, and Eastern Bihar, will witness relatively less activity, other regions can expect moderate to heavy rainfall.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in Three Key Districts

The weather department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the southern districts of Bihar, specifically in the districts of Kaimur, Rohtas, and Aurangabad. These areas are likely to receive significant rainfall, with certain places experiencing intense showers. The rainfall in these regions is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms, making conditions hazardous at times.

Yellow Alert for Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds

In addition to the heavy rainfall warning, the IMD has also issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning in several parts of western and central Bihar. The alert suggests the potential for lightning strikes, which can cause power outages and pose a risk to public safety. Along with thunderstorms, wind speeds in these areas may reach up to 30-40 kilometers per hour, creating further challenges for people residing in these districts.

The yellow alert indicates that while the weather conditions may not be extreme, they could still cause some disruptions, especially for outdoor activities. The department has advised residents to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

Temperature Variations Due to Rainfall

The onset of rainfall across several districts is expected to bring a temporary drop in temperature. The maximum temperature is predicted to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the affected areas. However, the minimum temperature is not expected to undergo significant changes. This slight dip in temperature will provide some relief from the intense heat that has been prevalent in the region in recent weeks.

Impact on Other Regions of Bihar

Apart from the three districts receiving heavy rainfall, the rest of Bihar is likely to experience normal monsoon-related activities. While no major weather disturbances are expected in areas such as Patna, the capital city, and other parts of western Bihar, moderate rainfall could still occur. The conditions are expected to remain conducive for monsoon activities in these areas, contributing to a brief respite from the usual summer heat.

Previous Day’s Weather in Bihar

On Friday, July 25, 2025, Bihar saw significant rainfall, which included heavy showers in several districts. Eastern Champaran, Shivhar, and Sitamarhi were the only areas that did not witness the widespread rainfall that impacted other parts of the state. The rainfall, though moderate to heavy in most districts, did not cause major disruptions. However, it led to a temporary drop in temperatures across Bihar.

The maximum temperature on Friday was reduced by 4.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature dropped by 2.7 degrees Celsius in Patna, offering some relief to residents. The city recorded 15 millimeters of rainfall, which helped in cooling down the usually hot and humid conditions that prevail during the summer months.

Weather Outlook for Patna on Saturday

Patna is also expected to witness rainfall on Saturday, particularly in isolated areas. The city had received moderate rainfall from Thursday evening through to Friday morning, which contributed to a reduction in the temperature. With the possibility of more showers expected over the weekend, Patna residents can expect slightly cooler weather as compared to the earlier part of the week.

Monsoon Activity in Kosi, Seemanchal, and Eastern Bihar

Despite the predictions for heavy rainfall in some parts of the state, the weather activity in Kosi, Seemanchal, and Eastern Bihar is expected to be less active compared to the rest of Bihar. The monsoon activity in these areas is likely to remain subdued, and the chance of heavy showers is minimal. However, light to moderate rainfall can still occur in these regions, adding to the overall monsoon dynamics.

The decreased rainfall in the eastern regions of Bihar might be a relief for farmers in the area who have been dealing with sporadic weather patterns during the ongoing monsoon season. However, farmers are still advised to keep a close watch on weather updates, as the conditions may change over the coming days.

In summary, Bihar is likely to experience a variety of weather conditions on Saturday, July 26. While some areas in the southern and western parts of the state are expected to face heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, other regions like Kosi and Seemanchal will have relatively calm conditions. The yellow alert for thunderstorms and gusty winds has been issued, and residents are urged to take precautions to ensure their safety.

The rainfall is expected to bring some relief from the intense summer heat, lowering temperatures by a few degrees. However, the weather conditions may lead to disruptions in outdoor activities, so it is advisable for people to remain cautious, especially in the affected districts.

It is essential to continue monitoring the weather closely, especially in areas where heavy rainfall is predicted. With the monsoon season in full swing, these weather patterns are expected to continue influencing the region’s climate over the coming days.

The IMD advises residents of the affected districts to stay informed about any further updates and to follow safety guidelines during thunderstorms. As the monsoon season progresses, Bihar will continue to witness fluctuations in weather, making it important for the public to remain prepared for any sudden weather changes.
