A shocking murder has been reported from Begusarai district, triggering fear and tension in the locality. A BSc Nursing student was shot dead late Friday night in Mohanpur village under the Khodawandpur police station area. The incident is believed to be linked to a love dispute, though police are still investigating all possible angles.
The deceased has been identified as Priyanshu Raj, a 22-year-old resident of Ward Number 12 of Mohanpur village in Begusarai. He was the son of Yogendra Paswan and was pursuing BSc Nursing. Priyanshu was living in Patna for his studies and had returned home after appearing for an examination.
Shot in the Head After Returning From Examination
According to family members, Priyanshu reached his village late Friday night after completing his exam in Patna. Shortly after his return, unknown assailants targeted him and opened fire. He was shot in the head and died on the spot. The sudden attack left the family and villagers in shock.
Soon after the firing, panic spread across Mohanpur village. Residents rushed to the spot, but Priyanshu had already succumbed to his injuries. The brutal nature of the killing created an atmosphere of fear, with many villagers staying indoors through the night.
Police Recover Cartridges, Bike, and Mobile Phone
Upon receiving information, police from Khodawandpur police station reached the crime scene and cordoned off the area. A detailed investigation was launched immediately. During the search, police recovered three empty cartridges from the spot.
In addition, a motorcycle and a mobile phone were also seized from the area. These items are being examined as part of the investigation. The body was taken into custody and sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination.
Family Alleges Murder Over Love Affair
The victim’s father, Yogendra Paswan, has alleged that the murder was the result of an ongoing love dispute. He stated that Priyanshu had been facing hostility from certain individuals for some time. According to him, the murder was pre-planned and executed due to personal rivalry.
The family has demanded the immediate arrest of those involved and strict punishment for the accused. They have expressed deep anguish and said their son had no criminal background and was focused on building his future through education.
