Over One Lakh Students Appeared in Second Semester Exam

The information regarding result declaration was shared by Examination Controller Professor Ram Kumar. He stated that around 1.43 lakh students appeared for the second semester examination. Out of these, nearly 1.25 lakh students have successfully cleared the exam.

A total of 16,000 students have been promoted under university rules. Around 2,000 students remained absent during the examination period. The overall pass percentage has been considered satisfactory by university officials.

Majority of Students Earned Required Credits

According to the examination department, around 1.34 lakh students have secured 28 credits. This credit count is essential for academic progression. Students who have earned the required credits will be eligible for the next semester without restrictions.

University officials said the evaluation process was completed on schedule. Answer sheets were assessed following standard academic guidelines. The result was prepared after multiple rounds of verification.

Upcoming Semester Examination Schedule Announced

The university has also shared details about upcoming examinations. The third semester examination for the 2024–28 session will be conducted in March. The fourth semester examination is scheduled for June.

Officials stated that the academic calendar is now back on track. Delays witnessed in previous sessions have been minimized. Students have been advised to prepare according to the announced timeline.

PG Admission Process Begins for Session 2025–27

Meanwhile, the admission process for postgraduate courses has also started. Admissions for the PG session 2025–27 began on Wednesday. The first merit list has been released with names of 10,045 candidates.

Based on the first merit list, admissions will continue until February 10. On the first day, limited numbers of students visited colleges and PG departments. Officials expect higher turnout in the coming days.

High Demand for Hindi and History in PG Courses

A large number of students have applied for PG courses in Hindi and History. Both subjects have received applications far exceeding available seats. Hindi received 2,137 applications, while History received 3,704 applications.

However, Hindi has only 824 seats available. History has 1,176 seats for admission. Due to this imbalance, many students may not secure admission in their preferred subject.

Total Applications Cross Twenty Two Thousand

In total, 22,562 students have applied for PG admission at the university. Against this, only around 11,000 seats are available across all subjects. This has increased competition significantly.

Apart from Hindi and History, Political Science and Zoology have also seen high demand. Political Science received 1,821 applications. Zoology recorded 2,175 applications from aspirants.

Limited Seats Create Admission Pressure

Political Science has only 796 seats available. Zoology offers just 404 seats. Due to limited capacity, students may face difficulties during admission.

University officials acknowledged the pressure created by seat shortages. Similar situations were observed during previous academic sessions as well.

Colleges Had Earlier Sought Seat Expansion

In earlier years, several colleges had requested an increase in seats. Applications were submitted for both UG and PG programs. Some colleges received approval for additional seats.

However, many colleges did not get permission for expansion. As a result, seat availability remains limited in several subjects. This situation may continue during the current admission cycle.

New PG Courses Proposed by Colleges

Several colleges have applied to start new PG courses from the upcoming academic session. The proposals are currently under review. If approved, these courses may help reduce admission pressure.

University authorities stated that decisions will be taken after proper assessment. Infrastructure and faculty availability will play a key role in approvals.

Priority Given to Honours Students in Merit List

Dean of Student Welfare Professor Alok Pratap Singh shared details about the merit list process. He stated that honours subject students were given priority in the first merit list.

All documents submitted by candidates are being thoroughly verified. Colleges and PG departments have been instructed to remain strict during verification.

Admission Cancellation Possible for Document Errors

University officials have warned that admission may be cancelled if discrepancies are found. Any mismatch in documents will lead to immediate action. Colleges have been asked to follow guidelines strictly.

The university aims to maintain transparency during the admission process. Students have been advised to carry original documents during enrollment.

Maximum Admissions Expected in Two Colleges

According to officials, LS College and RDS College are expected to witness the highest number of admissions. Both colleges may admit more than 2,000 students each during this cycle.

These colleges have higher intake capacity compared to others. Infrastructure and faculty strength also support larger admissions.

With the declaration of the second semester result, academic activity has picked up pace. Students can now plan their next steps with clarity. At the same time, PG admissions have brought renewed focus on seat availability.

While results have provided relief to many students, admission challenges remain. University authorities are working to balance demand and capacity. Students are advised to follow official updates closely in the coming weeks.
