BSEB Bihar Board 10th and 12th Model Paper Released for 2026 Exams

BSEB Bihar Board 10th and 12th Model Paper Released for 2026 Exams

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially released the model papers for the 10th and 12th grade exams scheduled for 2026. Students preparing for the upcoming exams can now download these model papers directly from the official website, biharboardonline.com. These model papers provide an essential insight into the structure, pattern, and marking scheme of the exams. By using these model papers, candidates can better understand the types of questions they may face, the number of questions in each section, and the duration of the examination.

How the Model Papers Benefit Students

The model papers help students familiarize themselves with the exam pattern, which includes the number of questions, time duration, and the marking scheme. These papers also give students an idea of the subject-wise distribution of questions. The board has published model papers for all subjects in both the 10th and 12th classes. Students can easily download these model papers from the board’s official website by selecting the appropriate section (either Inter or Matric) for their respective class.

In this year’s model papers, the total number of questions has been increased, but students are required to answer only half of the questions. Moreover, the model papers include more options for each section (Objective, Short Answer, and Long Answer), allowing students to choose from different sets of questions. This change will help students focus on the questions that are more manageable for them while still following the format set by the board.

Detailed Structure of the Model Papers for Matric and Inter Students

For the Matric (10th) examination, the model papers include subjects like Mathematics and Science. In Mathematics, a total of 138 questions will be asked. Of these, 100 will be objective-type questions, and students are required to answer only 50 questions. If a student answers more than 50 questions, only the first 50 answers will be considered for grading. Additionally, there will be 30 short-answer questions, from which students must answer 15, and 8 long-answer questions, of which students need to answer 4. The marking scheme will be as follows: 1 mark for each objective question, 2 marks for short-answer questions, and 5 marks for long-answer questions.

In the Science paper, there will be 110 questions, including 100 objective questions (students must answer 50), 30 short-answer questions (15 to be answered), and 8 long-answer questions (4 to be answered). The same pattern will apply to other subjects as well, including options for multiple-choice questions and a combination of short-answer and long-answer questions.

For the Inter (12th) examination, the model papers follow a similar structure. For example, in Chemistry, there will be a total of 96 questions, including 70 objective questions (students must answer 35), 20 short-answer questions (10 to be answered), and 6 long-answer questions (3 to be answered). This pattern will apply to all subjects in the 12th grade as well, with different combinations depending on the subject.

Furthermore, students will be given 15 extra minutes to read through the question paper, known as the ‘Cool-off Time’. This will allow them to familiarize themselves with the paper before starting the exam.
