Vivo has introduced a new addition to its G-series lineup with the launch of the Vivo G3 5G. This smartphone arrives as the successor to last year’s Vivo G2 and has been officially unveiled in the company’s home market, China. The device comes with a starting price under ₹20,000, offering a large display, powerful battery, and 5G connectivity.

Large Display with Smooth Refresh Rate

The Vivo G3 5G features a 6.74-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1600×720 pixels. The panel offers a 20:9 aspect ratio, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and supports a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals. A waterdrop notch houses the selfie camera, giving the display a modern look while maximizing screen space.

For photography, the rear camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with autofocus support. On the front, a 5-megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls, catering to basic photography needs.

Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, ensuring reliable 5G performance. The Vivo G3 5G is available in two RAM options — 6GB and 8GB LPDDR4X — paired with either 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The 6GB+128GB variant uses eMMC 5.1 storage.

This combination provides decent multitasking capabilities and enough space for storing apps, games, and media. The chipset is designed to deliver efficient performance for everyday usage and moderate gaming.

Massive 6000mAh Battery with Fast Charging

One of the key highlights of the Vivo G3 5G is its massive 6000mAh single-cell battery. The device supports 44W fast charging, enabling quick top-ups and extended usage without frequent charging interruptions. This large battery capacity is ideal for users who require all-day usage for streaming, gaming, and multitasking.

Runs on Android 15 with OriginOS 5

The Vivo G3 5G runs on Android 15 with the company’s custom OriginOS 5 interface. The software provides customization features and optimizations to enhance user experience. The interface is designed for smoother navigation and includes Vivo’s proprietary tools for better productivity.

Additional Features and Build Quality

The smartphone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick authentication. It supports dual SIM connectivity, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, an IR blaster, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The device comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, adding durability for everyday use. Weighing 204 grams, the Vivo G3 5G measures 167.3 x 76.95 x 8.19 mm, making it comfortable to hold despite its large battery.

The Vivo G3 5G is available in Diamond Black color. In China, the 6GB+128GB variant is priced at 1,499 yuan (approximately ₹18,200), while the 8GB+256GB model costs 1,999 yuan (around ₹24,300).

With its combination of a large display, 6000mAh battery, and 5G connectivity, the Vivo G3 5G positions itself as a value-for-money device in the mid-range segment. Although the launch is currently limited to China, the device’s specifications suggest it could appeal to international markets if released globally.
