Vivo has officially launched its latest premium smartphone, the Vivo V60 5G, in India. Positioned as the successor to the Vivo V50, the new device brings significant upgrades in performance, camera quality, battery life, and display brightness. The starting price in India is ₹36,999, making it a strong contender in the upper mid-range and near-premium segment.

The Vivo V60 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, delivering up to 27% better performance than its predecessor. One of its most notable highlights is the massive 6500mAh battery, complemented by a Zeiss-engineered triple camera setup and impressive durability ratings of IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

Price, Variants, and Availability in India

Vivo has introduced four variants of the V60 5G in the Indian market:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹36,999

  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹38,999

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹40,999

  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: ₹45,999

The device will go on sale starting 19 August 2025 across Vivo India’s official e-store, Flipkart, Amazon, and select offline retail outlets. Customers will be able to purchase it in three colors—Auspicious Gold, Mist Grey, and Moonlit Blue.

Design and Display

The Vivo V60 5G features a sleek and lightweight design, with a thickness ranging between 7.53mm and 7.69mm, and a weight between 192g and 201g, depending on the variant. The device comes with a 6.77-inch 1.5K QC AMOLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 5000 nits peak brightness.

With 1500 nits of high brightness mode (HBM), the screen remains vivid and clear even in direct sunlight. The display is protected by Diamond Shield Glass, enhancing durability against scratches and impacts.

Performance and Software

At the core of the Vivo V60 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, designed to handle multitasking and high-performance gaming with ease. The device uses UFS 2.2 storage for faster read and write speeds, ensuring smooth app launches and quick file transfers.

The smartphone runs on Android 15 with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 15 skin on top. Vivo promises four major OS updates and six years of security patches, offering one of the longest software support cycles in its price segment.

Camera System with Zeiss Partnership

Vivo has partnered with Zeiss to create a triple rear camera system for the V60 5G. This includes:

  • 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

  • 8MP ultra-wide sensor for expansive landscape and group shots

  • 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS

This combination aims to deliver excellent sharpness, accurate color reproduction, and enhanced low-light performance. The telephoto sensor’s optical zoom allows for detailed close-up shots without sacrificing image quality.

For selfies and video calls, the device sports a 50MP front camera with OIS, promising high-resolution self-portraits and stable video recording.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is a major selling point of the Vivo V60 5G. It houses a 6500mAh battery, providing extended usage for heavy users and travelers. The phone supports 90W fast charging, which can charge the device from 0% to approximately 50–70% in just 30 minutes.

This balance of large capacity and fast charging ensures users spend less time plugged in and more time using their device.

Durability and Extra Features

The Vivo V60 5G carries IP68 and IP69 certifications, offering protection from dust, accidental water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets. This makes it suitable for users with active lifestyles or those living in challenging environmental conditions.

Additional features include NFC support for quick UPI and contactless payments, and an IR Blaster that turns the phone into a universal remote for TVs and other home appliances.

Competitive Positioning

With its combination of a large battery, ultra-bright display, Zeiss-powered cameras, and strong performance, the Vivo V60 5G aims to compete with devices from brands like Samsung, OnePlus, and Oppo in the ₹35,000–₹45,000 range.

Its six-year security support and four OS upgrades are particularly appealing to buyers looking for long-term value.

User Experience and Target Audience

The Vivo V60 5G is clearly aimed at users who prioritize battery life, camera quality, and display performance. The 5000-nit peak brightness ensures visibility in outdoor conditions, while the telephoto zoom and OIS-equipped selfie camera cater to photography enthusiasts.

Gamers and power users will appreciate the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset’s performance, while travelers and business users can rely on the phone’s durability and battery longevity.

The Vivo V60 5G brings together premium features, durable design, and long-term software support, making it a strong option in the high mid-range segment. Its Zeiss triple camera setup, massive 6500mAh battery, and record-setting display brightness stand out as its main selling points.

With a competitive starting price and multiple storage options, Vivo is positioning the V60 5G as a device that offers both style and substance. Whether for photography, gaming, or everyday productivity, this smartphone appears well-equipped to meet the demands of Indian consumers in 2025.
