India’s Vande Bharat Express is not just winning hearts at home—it’s making a splash overseas too. At the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, this sleek, semi-high-speed train has become a crowd favorite. Visitors are stopping by in large numbers to get a closer look at what’s being called the future of Indian rail travel.

Let’s take a closer look at why Vande Bharat is getting global attention.

140 Trains and Counting

India now runs over 140 Vande Bharat trains across almost every major state (except a few in the Northeast). These trains have quickly become favorites for their speed, comfort, and reliability. Some routes, like the newly launched Katra–Srinagar line, are running with full occupancy and long waiting lists.

Japan Loves It

At the Osaka Expo, visitors are showing a lot of excitement about India’s rail technology—especially Vande Bharat Express and the Chinab Bridge.

Many were surprised to learn that India now runs such modern, fast, and well-equipped trains. People are impressed by:

  • The aerodynamic design

  • Onboard safety systems

  • The train’s speed and smooth travel experience

Even Japanese engineering students and tech lovers spent hours checking out models and displays. For many, this was a fresh and impressive look at how far Indian Railways has come.

Chinab Bridge Turns Heads

It’s not just the train—India also showcased the stunning Chinab Arch Bridge, the world’s tallest railway bridge, built in the Himalayas.

The bridge has become a symbol of India’s engineering strength, especially in difficult terrain. Students and visitors at the Expo were curious to learn about how it was built, what materials were used, and how it helps improve connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir.

Not Just Fast—Also Comfy

What makes Vande Bharat special is not just the speed but the passenger experience.

Each train offers:

  • Fully air-conditioned coaches

  • Automatic doors

  • GPS-based info systems

  • Bio-toilets

  • CCTV safety

  • Wi-Fi and catering services

These features give passengers a premium experience that was once only available in flights or luxury trains.

A Symbol of Modern India

Over the last few years, Vande Bharat has become more than a train. It’s a symbol of India’s growth, confidence, and modernization.

Its launch marked a shift in how people see Indian Railways—from slow and outdated to fast, stylish, and high-tech.

How It Stands Out

Compared to traditional trains, Vande Bharat is clearly in a different league.

Feature Vande Bharat Regular Trains
Speed Up to 160 km/h 110–130 km/h
Comfort Premium AC coaches Basic options
Doors Automatic Manual
Safety CCTV, alarms Minimal
Tech features Wi-Fi, GPS Limited or none
Occupancy Often 100% 70–80%

Interest from Around the World

India’s decision to showcase Vande Bharat at a global event like Osaka Expo shows confidence. It’s not just about promoting a train—it’s about telling the world that India can build world-class infrastructure.

This spotlight could also open doors for international partnerships, exports, and tech exchange in the future.
