KKN Gurugram Desk | The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CGL 2025 recruitment notification, announcing 14,582 vacancies across multiple central government departments and ministries. This is one of the biggest government recruitment drives of the year, and it includes Group B and Group C posts across a wide range of job profiles.

Eligible graduates between the ages of 18 and 32 years can now apply online through the SSC’s official portal. Here’s everything you need to know—from eligibility and age limits to exam dates and selection process.

 Total Vacancies and Job Categories

As per the official SSC notification, the CGL 2025 exam will fill 14,582 posts in various central government departments, including constitutional bodies, statutory organizations, and tribunals.

 Eligibility Criteria

 Educational Qualification

  1. For most posts: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

  2. For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Graduation in any stream with 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th level.

  3. For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s degree with Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics as a mandatory or elective subject.

 Age Limit (As on August 1, 2025)

Different posts have varying age requirements:

Post Category Age Limit
General Posts 18–27 years
Inspector/CBI/Excise 20–30 years
ASO and others 18–30 years
Special Cases Up to 32 years

 Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • PwD: Up to 10 years (depending on category)

 Selection Process

The SSC CGL 2025 selection process consists of two main tiers:

 Tier-I: Preliminary (Qualifying in Nature)

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)

  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • Total Questions: 100

  • Total Marks: 200

  • Negative Marking: 0.50 per wrong answer

 Tier-II: Mains (Merit Based)

Tier-II consists of multiple papers, depending on the post applied for:

Paper-I (Compulsory for All Posts)

  • Section I: Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence

  • Section II: English Language and Comprehension, General Awareness

  • Section III: Computer Proficiency, Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)

Paper-II (Only for JSO Applicants)

  • Questions from Statistics

Paper-III (Only for SI in CBI/NIA and Statistical Investigator)

  • Questions from Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics

 Correction Window

For the first time, SSC has introduced two levels of correction charges:

  • First Correction Fee: ₹200

  • Second Correction Fee: ₹500

Candidates should fill their application forms carefully to avoid unnecessary penalties during correction windows.

 Key Registration Requirement: One-Time Registration (OTR)

SSC has made One-Time Registration (OTR) mandatory via its new portal:

  • Old OTR from ssc.nic.in is not valid.

  • New OTR must be created on https://ssc.gov.in.

  • Aadhaar-based verification is compulsory for scribe support.

 Exam Pattern at a Glance

 Tier-I Summary:

  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • 100 Questions, 200 Marks

  • Penalty for wrong answer: 0.5 mark

 Tier-II (Paper I):

  • Four Sections as mentioned above

  • Compulsory for all

  • DEST to assess data entry speed

 Normalization of Marks

If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, SSC will apply a normalization formula to equate scores across sessions, ensuring fairness in evaluation.
