KKN Gurugram Desk | The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially denied all rumors related to a paper leak in NEET UG 2025, calling them “baseless and misleading.” As panic gripped thousands of medical aspirants across India due to alleged question papers going viral on social media platforms like Telegram, NTA assured that all question papers are secure and the exam process is being conducted with enhanced security protocols.

NEET UG 2025 is scheduled to be held on May 4, 2025, across various examination centers in the country.

“Students should not fall prey to fake news or rumors circulating online. Our systems are secure, and question papers are distributed with strict protocols. Focus on preparation, not distractions,” NTA said in a press release.

What Happened on Social Media: The Spark of Panic

As the exam date approached, screenshots and PDFs claiming to be the leaked NEET UG 2025 paper surfaced on multiple Telegram groups. Within hours, these posts spread rapidly, sparking confusion among students and concern among parents.

This isn’t the first time NEET has faced such a challenge—last year (2024), similar paper leak claims had led to investigations and arrests in a few states, causing widespread unrest.

NEET UG 2024: The Precedent That Heightened Concern

In 2024, reports of paper leaks emerged from certain states, prompting court intervention. While arrests were made and some students were found to have benefited unfairly, the exam was not canceled. The incident led to a trust deficit that still lingers in the minds of many examinees in 2025.

This year’s viral posts revived those anxieties—making it crucial for NTA to respond decisively.

NTA’s Statement on NEET UG 2025: Exam is Secure and Controlled

NTA revealed that over 1,500 online reports and links related to paper leaks were identified and flagged for investigation. However, none of them were found authentic.

Key measures taken by NTA:

  • Secure paper distribution protocol

  • Real-time monitoring of social media

  • Strict access control at all printing and transport stages

  • Barcode-based tracking of question paper sets

  • Cybersecurity surveillance for exam content leaks

All NEET UG 2025 question papers are being handled with multi-level physical and digital security layers to prevent any compromise.

New Security Measures in NEET UG 2025

To prevent malpractice and rumors, the government and NTA have upgraded the examination environment for 2025. Here are the notable steps:

1. Only Government Schools as Exam Centers

Private institutions have been excluded to ensure maximum transparency and better infrastructure control.

2. District Surveillance Committees

Each district now has a dedicated committee monitoring all exam centers for procedural compliance and security.

3. Live CCTV Monitoring

Real-time surveillance of exam rooms to detect any unusual activity instantly.

4. Strict Entry Protocols

Biometric attendance, metal detectors, and digital verification have been implemented at centers.

What Students Should Know and Do

Amid rumors and uncertainty, experts and officials recommend that students:

  • Ignore unverified information on Telegram, WhatsApp, or social media.

  • Do not share or forward any document claiming to be leaked papers.

  • Report suspicious activity to school authorities or NTA helpline.

  • Focus entirely on last-minute preparation and revision.

Statement from Education Experts

Dr. Radhika Menon, an exam strategy coach, said:

“This is the time to tune out all distractions. Even if the rumors feel real, they are often planted to create confusion. Trust the system and concentrate on what you can control—your performance.”

  • Students involved in malpractice will face permanent disqualification

  • Fraudsters can face legal action including jail time

Parents’ Concerns and Response

Many parents have expressed concern over repeated paper leak rumors in competitive exams. While they welcome NTA’s steps, they also want more transparency in communication and rapid rebuttal of misinformation.
