KKN Gurugram Desk | After its successful China launch, OnePlus is preparing to introduce its next compact flagship smartphone in India, officially named the OnePlus 13s. The company confirmed the upcoming release via a teaser on X (formerly Twitter), hinting at premium features, flagship-grade performance, and a sleek design.

While an official launch date is yet to be announced, early reports and leaks suggest that the OnePlus 13s will position itself in the upper mid-range smartphone category, offering competitive specs at an expected price point of around ₹50,000.

Compact Yet Powerful: Display and Design

The OnePlus 13s aims to combine compact form factor with flagship performance. With a 6.32-inch display, the device is marginally smaller than Xiaomi 15’s 6.36-inch screen, offering better grip and one-hand usability for compact phone lovers.

OnePlus has consistently offered sleek, minimalistic designs, and the 13s is no different. It will launch in two elegant color variants — Black Velvet and Pink Satin — both offering a premium matte finish and seamless unibody aesthetics.

Most Powerful OnePlus Chip Yet: Snapdragon 8 Elite

One of the standout features of the OnePlus 13s is its integration of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip built for power efficiency, AI optimization, and superior thermal control.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite:

  • Enhances GPU and CPU performance for gaming and multitasking

  • Enables on-device generative AI and real-time translation

  • Supports ultra-fast 5G speeds and Wi-Fi 7 compatibility

With this chip, the OnePlus 13s aligns itself with true flagships like the Galaxy S25 and iQOO 14 Pro.

Photography: Dual 50MP Camera Setup

In the optics department, the OnePlus 13s brings a dual-camera system:

  • 50 MP main sensor (likely Sony IMX890)

  • 50 MP telephoto lens with optical zoom

Though missing an ultrawide sensor, the inclusion of a dual 50MP setup ensures clarity and detail in both standard and portrait shots.

A first-time feature for OnePlus is the programmable action button — replacing the traditional alert slider — offering customizable quick actions like launching the camera, toggling silent mode, or accessing specific apps.

Battery & Charging: A New Benchmark for OnePlus

The OnePlus 13s is set to house a 6,260 mAh battery, the largest battery ever in a OnePlus phone. This massive battery aims to deliver:

  • Up to 2 days of moderate usage

  • Extended screen-on time for gamers and streamers

  • Less frequent charging cycles

Complementing this is 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging, which can charge the device from 0–100% in under 30 minutes. However, OnePlus has opted not to include wireless charging, possibly to keep the thickness in check and retain affordability.

Software: Android 15 + OxygenOS 15

The device will come pre-installed with Android 15, layered with OxygenOS 15, known for:

  • Clean, ad-free interface

  • Smooth transitions and animations

  • Deep customization and privacy controls

  • Integration of AI features, like smart summarization, voice commands, and battery optimization

Just like the OnePlus 13, users can expect 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches.

Connectivity and Additional Features

The OnePlus 13s is expected to support:

  • Dual 5G SIM

  • Wi-Fi 7

  • Bluetooth 5.4

  • In-display fingerprint sensor

  • Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support

The device may also include UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, improving read-write speeds and overall system fluidity.

OnePlus 13s: Where It Fits in the Lineup

Here’s how the OnePlus 13s fits in OnePlus’ current portfolio:

Model Price (approx.) Chipset Battery Camera
OnePlus 13R ₹42,999 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 5,000 mAh Triple (50 MP main)
OnePlus 13s ~₹50,000 Snapdragon 8 Elite 6,260 mAh Dual 50 MP
OnePlus 13 ₹69,999 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5,400 mAh Triple camera setup

This places the 13s as a performance-focused compact flagship sitting between the OnePlus 13R and OnePlus 13, offering the best value for users wanting top-tier specs without touching flagship pricing.

Availability: Where and When to Buy

Although the official launch date hasn’t been revealed, teaser campaigns suggest the phone could debut in May 2025. Like previous OnePlus launches, the 13s is expected to be available:

  • Exclusively on Amazon India

  • Through OnePlus Experience Stores

  • On the OnePlus India website

Pre-orders might open within a week of launch, and early buyers may get bundled offers such as free earbuds, extended warranty, or bank discounts.

Pricing Expectations

Industry insiders believe the base variant of OnePlus 13s will be priced around ₹49,999, targeting users who want:

  • Better performance than the 13R

  • Affordable alternative to the 13

  • A device that’s compact yet future-ready

Exact storage and RAM configurations are yet to be disclosed, but options are likely to include:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage

The OnePlus 13s brings together the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a massive battery, compact display, and next-gen AI capabilities, making it an ideal choice for users seeking a powerful phone in a manageable size.
